The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) was founded on March 8, 1817. Every day on the trading floor, stocks are bought and sold and huge amounts of money are moved between companies. The NYSE is located in the lower part of Manhattan in New York City, and there are four main trading rooms. During the workweek, the stock market opens at 9:30 AM with a burst of loud noise. Big screens show who is buying and who is selling. The people on the trading floor must make quick decisions. If they miss an opportunity, they could lose their jobs along with millions of dollars.

紐約證券交易所（NYSE）建立於1817年的3月8日。每天在交易廳裡都有股票買進、賣出，大筆金錢在各大公司間流動。紐約證券交易所座落在紐約市的下曼哈頓區，裡頭有4間交易室。在開市交易的日子裡，股市於上午9時30分在吵雜的聲音中揭開序幕。偌大的螢幕顯示賣方與買方。而交易廳的營業員必須當機立斷。如果他們錯失良機，除了弄丟自己的飯碗，還會損失好幾百萬元。
