Few people get the chance to rewrite history. Barack Obama is one of the lucky ones. On this date in 1961, Barack Hussein Obama II was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His mother, Ann Dunham was originally from Kansas. His father, Barack Obama, Sr., was from Kenya. Growing up, Obama lived in Hawaii and Indonesia. As a senator, he gave a well-received speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Then in 2009, after two full years of campaigning, Obama became the first African-American President of the United States. That same year, Obama became the fourth US President to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
